Our Mission

The mission of the Victory House is to provide a balance of freedom and structure, aiding men in recovery and assisting them in living a productive lifestyle as positive members of the community, free from addiction. The Victory House is dedicated to biblical teachings, group discussions, and counseling and men are provided one-to-one time with Godly mentors to promote a sustainable life transformation.

The Victory House Men's Sober Living program focus is on providing participants with a positive environment in which to renew their perspective, attitude, lifestyle, and spiritual well-being, and develop the tools needed for lifelong success.

Our Program

The Victory House Men's Sober Living Home provides a safe and sober environment in which participants can continue recovery and begin to plan a permanent, sustainable and healthy lifestyle as a productive member of their community. Our program focuses on:

  • Developing a personalized program for each house member, addressing their specific areas of need for a fresh start.
  • Providing a harmonious community environment in which participants contribute their time and talents to maintain a safe, clean home in which mutual respect is paramount.
  • Assisting participants in obtaining and maintaining gainful employments and financial counsel to set themselves up for long-term success.
  • Requiring both Christ-centered and recovery support-centered programming for the tools to manage a new way of living.
  • Providing limitations with oversite (curfew enforcement, substance testing, visiting hours/location designations) to help ease back into the broader community.
  • Provide skill-building, life planning and financial mentorship as needed to develop a successful life plan.
  • Assistance in seeking and obtaining a safe place to live and work upon graduation from the program.

  • Length of stay - this program is designed to be a one-year program. However, the mission of the program is to provide men the skills to maintain a sober lifestyle for the duration of their lives. If after a year, the participant does not have a safe place to call home, the option to remain at the Victory House will be considered, if desired.

Onboarding Assistance

When arriving at the Victory House, many men are truly starting over and have nothing. So, we start by evaluating what basics they need on a case-by-case basis. We feel it is important for each person to have things they OWN to start over as much as possible, rather than having to borrow. Typical onboarding includes:

  • A trip to a local discount store (WalMart) to get them set up ($250-300) This includes - a few outfits, socks, undergarments, shoes, basic hygiene needs and a few groceries. (The Victory House is often able to contribute meat through donation, but remaining groceries are purchased by individual participants.)
  • As needed, most of the men receive assistance from the Victory House for their first dental appointment. Generally, the men don't yet have dental insurance and often have compromised dental health due to the conditions in which they have lived. The Victory House helps them get x-rays, a cleaning and tooth extraction, if needed, as well as assisting with any antibiotics needed in the process.
  • Work is important to successfully starting a new life. In order to get a valid position, most men need help obtaining and paying for a valid ID. Victory House helps participants get their birth certificate, social security card and non-driver ID.
  • The Victory House tries to ensure that basic hygiene and cleaning items are available, either by received donations, or by purchase when the budget allows. This relieves some of the financial burden on the men and allows them to move forward more quickly in saving.
  •  Victory House provides sleep and house essentials - towels, pillows and bedding and other items as needed.
