WE ASKED A GROUP FROM OUR COMMUNITY TO SHARE SOME OF THE THINGS THEY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT THE VICTORY HOUSE SOBER LIVING PROGRAM FOR MEN. THEIR QUESTIONS AND THE ANSWERS ARE BELOW

The Victory House is independent.  It has no other affiliations.

Originally, a program called Straight Edge was in the first house. Their goals were different than the founders' goals and that is when the Victory House ministry began.

The heart of our board members toward the need of the community.

Mentors and sponsorships.

The VH is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping men flourish and mature in their relationship with God while equipping them with the necessary tools to lead an abundant, healthy, sober lifestyle and fulfill their divine purpose.

Its successful because they are introduced to Jesus and experience salvation.  They learn skills to prevent recidivism (going back to prison)  It helps them restore broken bridges with their families but also they learn responsibility and discipline.

Staying sober, holding a job, meeting their goals and having a spiritual awakening.

The definition of success varies by individual. A number would be roughly 80%.

Most of the men come to the Victory House through Probation and Parole.  We do have some that come to us by word of mouth.

The only requirements we ask of the men that come to the house is to be ready to change their life.

There is no time length on how long they can stay.  We see the most success from the men that stay a full year.  After they’re year is up, they can stay as long as they need.

Currently there are 11 men in the program.

We can hold up to 12 men and 1 house manager.

Yes.

Danny Inman, Cindy Inman, Jason Ponder, Jessica Ponder

There is one paid position and that is our driver. This position is responsible for driving the men as needed to jobs, probation appointments, interviews, doctors' appointments, etc. The position currently pays $10,400 annually.

Bylaws and all rules for the program are available to review.

The men pay $200 a week in rent, a portion of which is put into a mandatory savings account, so they have money to start over when they leave the program.  The House covers all utilities and covers all the paper goods and cleaning supplies for the house.

The only time the men are asked to move out is if they have relapsed or are causing havoc in the house.  The executive director, Jason Ponder, typically decides if someone needs to leave.  There are times the board will make the decision.  Jason always has a follow up meeting with the men in the program after someone is asked to leave so they are aware of why it happened.

Financial and donation records are available to view.

The Victory House 501 3C owns the houses and property.

We have had 5 graduations since we have started.

Every once in a while, the house will hire someone to come in and do a deep clean but the men are responsible to keep the house clean.

The men are required to watch their language and we will correct them when we hear it.  But it is not our place to sanctify them.  God is working on their hearts.
